Went on the ferry from Mull on a wet drizzly day. The abbey cost £8 for a senior although to be fair that includes lots of boards with information on plus an audio tape to tell you about it. We chose…Full review by DavidA200

We stood within a gated area outside the abbey entrance, discussing if we were prepared to pay the entrance fee, bearing in mind we had all visited on previous visits to Iona. An angry employee with …Full review by Trail32198648863

Hello TowerTwo, Thank you for your review. How long can you visit the Abbey and Nunnery in one day? I'm trying to reserve tickets and am asked to select a date and time. If I select a specific time (say 10:00), are we able to visit for a while and come back later in the day on the same ticket? Or are we restricted to that 30-minute slot of time? Thank you, Kathy

Not aware of a time-limit. Just book a slot. We spent a good 4 hours there between attending the 9:00am Service and the Museum in May 2022. The Nunnery is separate and again, not aware of a time limit. Keep an eye on ferry times if returning to Mull at the end of the day. Rough seas can affect the ferry service time-tabling!. Enjoy… a fabulous place and island!
Q:
Has anyone attended a Sunday service at the abbey?
A:
No, sorry

Q:
We will be in Tobermory for one day in late June 2017 off of a cruise ship. Dock at 8:00 am and back on board by 4:00 pm. Is there any guide who could pick up a party of 4 and do a drive/tour to Iona Abbey in sufficient time?
A:
The cruise line will almost certainly be running a tour there. It will take all day. 2.5 hours each way but more than worth it.
