Vance Boelter, 57, has been charged in the shootings of two Minnesota lawmakers and their spouses. The Hennepin County Attorney said Monday that her office intends to pursue first-degree murder charges against him as well.

Vance Boelter has been arrested alive, sources are confirming with FOX 9. Boelter is the suspect who assassinated Minnesota Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband, and injured Sen. John Hoffman and his wife.

Boelter claimed to have a doctorate of education, and said he spent extensive time in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Africa — where he was seen in videos apparently preaching on stage.

Vance Luther Boelter's wife Jenny was taken into custody during a traffic stop in Minnesota, where police found weapons and cash in her vehicle.
