Authorities say a fireball that erupted from a burst gas pipeline soared into the sky outside Malaysia’s largest city and injured 145 people.

Scores of people in Malaysia were being treated in hospitals on Tuesday (April 1) after a huge fire broke out at a gas pipeline operated by state energy giant Petronas, showering flaming debris from the sky.

A gas pipeline explosion near Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia on Tuesday led to a massive fire, affecting more than 100 people, reported the Times of India, citing sources. Malaysian oil and gas company Petronas reported that the blaze started at the pipeline operated by its subsidiary Petronas Gas Berhad (PGB) at 8:10am.
