The members who were present at the 93rd BCCI Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Bengaluru on Sunday requested incumbent secretary Jay Shah to speed up the process of finding his successor to keep the transition of power as smooth as possible.

Rohan Jaitley, president of Delhi and District Cricket Association, BCCI Treasurer Ashish Shelar, Joint Secretary Devajit Saikia and Gujarat Cricket Association secretary Anil Patel are the candidates who are in the fray to succeed Shah,

Shah is expected to step down from the role of BCCI secretary in the last week of November in order to assume office as the newly-appointed Independent Chair of the ICC from 1 December.

The post of BCCI secretary will go vacant after Jay Shah assumes his office as International Cricket Council chairman on December 1, 2024.

At the 93rd AGM of BCCI in Bengaluru on September 29, members called on Jay Shah to quickly find his successor to facilitate a smooth transition.
