The NBA season is about three weeks old and now is the time for the third edition of the power rankings for the 2024-25 season. The league has seen its fair share of surprises and disappointments to begin the season and now is the time to see where each team stacks up.

Embiid should be paired for the first time with nine-time All-Star Paul George, who missed the first five games with a bone bruise. Embiid, George and fellow All-Star Tyrese Maxey were the 76ers’ version of a Big Three that was expected to make them one of the big favorites out of the Eastern Conference.

The 76ers are scheduled to play back-to-back games this week, first at home against the Knicks on Tuesday then hosting the Cavaliers on Wednesday. The expectation is the 76ers will avoid playing Embiid in both games of back-to-backs this year, so if Embiid does play Tuesday, he will most likely sit on Wednesday.
