KAHIKINUI (Island News) -- A fast growing brush fire on Maui has many people on the move Sunday. As of late afternoon it was reportedly up to 200 acres. Evacuation orders were issued Sunday morning by the Maui Emergency Management Agency for dozens of homes near mile marker 24 and 25 in Kahikinui due to the fire fueled by strong winds.
KAHIKINUI (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Maui Fire Department is battling a brush fire in Kahikinui. The Maui Emergency Management Agency sent out an alert about the fire shortly after 10 a.m. Sunday. Officials said that first responders are on scene between mile markers 24 and 25, and asked the public to avoid the area.
