VHP calls on Supreme Court to take suo motu cognizance of allegations regarding the adulteration of Tirupati laddus

Lucknow: Amid the controversy over the "adulteration" of Tirupati laddus, the famous Mankameshwar temple here has banned offerings of 'prasad' bought by devotees from outside and said they can offer homemade 'prasad' or fruits.

The ritual began at 6 am and lasted till 10 am. It was aimed at propitiating Lord Venkateswara Swamy from the alleged sacrilegious practices such as mixing animal fats in making Tirupati laddus (consecrated sweet) and others.

The Mankameshwar temple in Lucknow has banned offerings of prasad bought from outside due to concerns over adulteration. Devotees are now encouraged to bring homemade prasad or fruits. This decision follows allegations of substandard ingredients and animal fat being used in Tirupati laddus,
