Senior AAP leader Atishi was administered oath as the eighth Chief Minister of Delhi by Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena on Saturday

The AAP leader is the third woman CM of the national capital after late Sushma Swaraj and Sheila Dikshit. At 43, Atishi is also the youngest CM in Delhi’s history, surpassing Kejriwal, who was 45 when he first took office.

Along with her, five other ministers of AAP were sworn in and will be part of Delhi’s cabinet. These include Saurabh Bharadwaj, Gopal Rai, Kailash Gehlot, Imran Hussain and Mukesh Ahlawat

Atishi held 13 major portfolios in the Cabinet headed by outgoing CM Arvind Kejriwal, including finance, revenue, PWD and education.

New Delhi Chief Minister Atishi has called for the re-election of Arvind Kejriwal in the upcoming February assembly elections. She emphasized that Kejriwal resigned to seek a certificate of honesty from Delhi's citizens.

A first-time legislator, Atishi is a key face of the party and managed AAP's operations during Arvind Kejriwal's time in Tihar jail in connection with the excise policy case.

Aam Aadmi Party leader Atishi took oath as Delhi Chief Minister on Saturday at Raj Niwas. Other AAP leaders, including Saurabh Bharadwaj, Gopal Rai, Kailash Gahlot, Imran Hussain and Mukesh Ahlawat also took oath as council of ministers in the Atishi-led Delhi cabinet.
