Questions are being raised regarding the oversight of waterparks in Pennsylvania after the Dauphin County Coroner ruled that a 9-year-old child drowned at Hersheypark last week. On July 24, Hershey Entertainment & Resorts reported that a child received medical attention after an incident at The Boardwalk.

"A bright, kind, and loving young girl, Sophia brought joy and light to everyone who knew her," a family representative said

Lifeguards noticed that the girl was in distress and tried to rescue her, according to the park, which said that the pool remained closed on Friday.
