Negotiations between Republic and Teamsters Local 25 union have stalled over wages, benefits, working conditions, and paid time off, according the union.

If no agreement is reached by Tuesday, service disruptions could begin as early as this week in 16 towns where Republic Services handles waste collection.

Teamsters says more than 400 of its workers in the Boston area are striking as a tactic to secure a more favorable contract.
