Srinagar Airport has been temporarily closed due to heavy snowfall. Authorities have announced that flight operations will remain suspended until the weather improves. This decision was made in consideration of air traffic safety,

Srinagar recorded about eight inches of snow while neighbouring Ganderbal recorded about seven inches. Sonamarg, a famous tourist destination, recorded around eight inches of snow. As many as 80 flights were cancelled.
