Tampa Bay Rays shortstop Wander Franco has been granted supervised release after being arrested and charged for illegally carrying a gun in his vehicle during an altercation in a parking lot in the Dominican Republic.

MLB star Wander Franco was granted a supervised release this week following a gun arrest while he awaits a sexual abuse trial. On Wednesday, Franco, a shortstop for the Tampa Bay Rays, was granted the supervised release after his arrest on charges of illegally carrying a firearm in his vehicle during a parking lot altercation in the Dominican Republic.

No court date has been set for the Rays shortstop, who is accused of illegally possessing and carrying a firearm, punishable by 3-5 years in jail.
