A minor, 3.6-magnitude earthquake struck in Central California on Thursday, according to the United States Geological Survey.

A preliminary 2.0 magnitude quake occurred close to Johannesburg on Thursday evening, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor rattled at 11:54 p.m., with its epicenter approximately 29 miles east-southeast of Beatty and a depth of 5 miles.
