Jake McCoy was expected to be a key piece for the Gamecocks after starting 14 games in 2025.

Following a large roster turnover, South Carolina baseball returns only six pitchers for the 2026 season with the hopes of becoming more competitive in conference play under head coach Paul Mainieri.
