Over 400 athletes from across Kentucky competed in the Special Olympics Kentucky Region 1 Basketball Tournament on Saturday.

RHINELANDER (WJFW) — Dozens of people gathered at Cabaret Cove in Rhinelander to help raise money for local Special Olympics kids. Pearl Fessenden has enjoyed line dancing her entire life, so when the opportunity came up to use her skills for a good cause, she jumped at the opportunity.

The Wertz Warriors Snowmobile Group donated $375,000 to Special Olympics athletes during the winter games, surpassing their usual $325,000 contribution. Funds were raised through public donations and individual fundraising by members.
