ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. — Several roads are closed in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, after torrential rain on Monday caused massive flooding in the region. Elizabethtown was hit by several inches of rain, which led to many creeks overflowing, according to city officials.
Recent torrential rains caused record-breaking floods in the South and Eastern U.S., causing nearly 20 deaths. Floods resulted in considerable infrastructure damage, challenging rescue efforts. With more rain forecast and grounds already saturated, further flooding continues to be a severe risk.
