Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey requested more funds towards state shelters and ordered an inspection of all state shelters on Monday, after three assault rifles and a large amount of fentanyl were found in a Revere state shelter.

Healey’s order followed the arrest late last month of an undocumented immigrant from the Dominican Republic. Revere police said they seized an assault rifle and roughly 10 pounds of fentanyl.

"It's outrageous that this individual took advantage of our shelter system to engage in criminal activity," Healey said in a press statement on Monday.
