It was an emotional day as the families of Layla Clemmons and Jaea Chatman, both just 17 years old, came face-to-face with the man accused of killing them.

Family and friends of Layla Chrissa Clemons and Jaea Chatman, both 17, packed the courtroom for the arraignment of David Alison Walker, 71.

The 71-year-old man accused of hitting and killing two 17-year-old girls in West Sacramento and then fleeing the scene admitted drinking six to eight ounces of vodka before getting behind the wheel, a Yolo County prosecutor said in court.
