Google is rolling out two new AI-powered security features to Pixel 6 or newer devices. One observes call patterns to notify users about potential scammers on the default Phone app, and the other scans apps for malware and notifies users about live threats via Google Play Protect.

Scam calls are incredibly common, but Google has a new plan to detect them in real time using on-device AI models. It's coming first to Google Pixel phones.

Earlier this year in July, some reports hinted that Google was working on a feature to identify potential scams during calls by analyzing the conversation. Fast forward to today, Google is rolling out live Scam Detection to public beta users on select Google Pixel phones.
