Thai and Cambodian leaders are set for talks Monday to halt the deadliest clash between the neighbors in more than a decade, with the US sending mediators after President Donald Trump used tariffs threats to press for a ceasefire.

SISAKET, Thailand/WASHINGTON (Reuters) -U.S. President Donald Trump said on Saturday the leaders of Cambodia and Thailand had agreed to meet immediately to quickly work out a ceasefire, as he sought to broker peace after three days of fighting along their border.

Fresh cross-border clashes between Thailand and Cambodia broke out on Sunday hours after US President Donald Trump announced the two Southeast Asian nations had agreed to ceasefire talks.
