Toyota and Lexus vehicles have a VSC warning light, but it's important to understand how it works and why it's important.

VSC is an electronic system designed to reduce the loss of vehicle control by monitoring steering direction and a vehicle’s actual direction.

Toyota Motor Company announced Wednesday that it would issue a safety recall for some 2003 Toyota Sequoia SUVs in order to upgrade software in the Sequoia’s Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) system.

This technology is called Steering- Assist Vehicle Control (S-VSC) which is an enhanced version of the conventional VSC system.

The VSC system deserves a financial commitment from the state that will allow them to complete this mission. VSC has followed through, the state has not.
