It's been a very tough week for hockey following the passing of 12-year-old Natalia Moore in Michigan, along with German National Team forward Tobias Eder yesterday and now, the sport has lost a beloved member of the media in Ottawa.

A Utah turnover while on the power play led to the Senators’ first goal of the game in the second period. Shane Pinto and Ridly Greig exploded on a two-on-1 as Utah’s Nick Schmaltz trailed while trying to get back. Greig one-timed Pinto’s pass past goalie Karel Vejmelka at 12:16 for the 1-0 advantage.
A terrible piece of news has just struck the hockey world and the National Hockey League community. TSN Ottawa radio host, and former NHLer, Shawn Simpson has passed away at the age of 56.
The Ottawa Charge got things going early in the game and were able to keep the Frost off the board the entire time to clinch the win.
Brianne Jenner scored her first PWHL goal less than four minutes into the game, Gwyneth Philips made 22 saves for her first career shutout and the Ottawa Charge beat the Minnesota Frost 1-0 to end a three-game losing streak.
Bobby McMann — who made his debut on the top line — had the lone goal for the Leafs as Toronto fell short 2-1 to Ottawa.

Ottawa’s netminder against Minnesota on Jan. 21 made history in a 1-0 shutout. Gwyneth Philips earned not only her first career Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) win, but also did not let any pucks by her on goalie appreciation night.
Gophers fifth-year forward Audrey Wethington took a few minutes to speak to the media this week ahead of her team’s weekend showdown with second-ranked Ohio State. Perhaps the most remarkable thing about it was the fact that Wethington could find the time to chat.
Osborne, the former Richmond Royal, owns the best save percentage in the PWHL at .954, but she’s only played three games and two of them were fortunate enough to be against Ottawa. Among the starters, Maschmeyer’s .929 is second best, and she has played a league-leading 10 games.
