NHL – National Hockey League Last Night Philadelphia Flyers 2, Detroit Red Wings 1 – OT Flyers 2, Red Wings 1 – OT – Ristolainen scores in OT to lift the Flyers over the Red Wings 2-1
Rasmus Ristolainen taps in the game-winner to extend the Flyers’ point streak to a season-high six (5-0-1) games.
Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Samuel Ersson extended his winning streak to five games on Tuesday evening with an overtime victory over the Detroit Red Wings. Ersson stopped 27 of the 28 shots he faced.
It wasn’t a winning effort, but given the Detroit Red Wings’ struggles in the City of Brotherly Love, a point is better than nothing. Rasmus Ristolainen’s goal with 30 seconds left in overtime was the  difference.
Ristolainen was the OT hero after a move and a loose puck just trickled by Red Wings goaltender Alex Lyon on a rush and a deke that got away from Owen Tippett in the blue paint. The defenseman was the one to crash in and clean it all up.
MONTREAL — Jake Evans scored the winning goal with 2:15 remaining to rally the Montreal Canadiens past the Tampa Bay Lightning 3-2 on Tuesday night.
Joel Farabee’s goal at 5:21 of the second period was the only scoring through two periods. He fired in a backhand shot from the slot as the Red Wings were scrambling in their zone. The Flyers had the game’s only power play and didn’t convert.
