Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum play a couple of nitwit rookie cops who are so bad at their job, they’re reassigned to 21 Jump Street, a program the script freely admits is recycled from the 1980’s.

In the case of Rosie Perez, her fledgling career included a guest spot on 21 Jump Street, which saw her get the vote of confidence from Johnny Depp himself.

The movie is based on a TV cop series from the the 1980s starring Johnny Depp. 22 Jump Street, the sequel to 21 Jump Street, is set to hit theaters in June of 2014.
