Despite the rainfall, Delhi's air quality index (AQI) improved slightly on Thursday but stayed in the "very poor" category at 340. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, Pusa recorded an AQI of 353, North Campus at 342, Mundka at a severe level of 413, Wazirpur at 392, IGI Airport (T3) at 340, Dwarka Sector-8 at 412, RK Puram at 410.

The Regional Meteorology Centre, New Delhi, predicted light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and shallow to moderate fog in the national capital.

Several parts of Delhi witnessed light rain Friday morning, accompanied by dense fog that reduced visibility across the city. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the minimum temperature recorded on Friday morning was 12 degree Celsius and the maximum was recorded 20 degree Celsius.

The AQI in all 36 monitoring stations listed under Centre's Sameer app was under 450 on Tuesday, while some were under 400 as well.

The IMD said thunderstorm accompanied by rains is expected in the national capital on Friday and Saturday, while a 'yellow alert' has been issued for the city.
