CLEVELAND (WKBN) — The Cleveland Guardians have recalled left-handed reliever Tim Herrin from Triple-A Columbus. Herrin replaces closer Emmanuel Clase, who was placed on MLB administrative leave on Monday. Herrin has appeared in 37 games with Cleveland this season, posting a record of 4-2 with a 3.99 ERA.
Cleveland is one of the hotter teams in baseball with a 12-5 record over the last 17 games and 6-4 since the All-Star break. For the Rockies, a 5-4 record over the last nine is pretty impressive based on how this season is going, but losing by a combined score of 23-1 at the Orioles in the last two games is not.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — All-Star pitcher Kris Bubic of the Kansas City Royals will miss the rest of the season with a strained rotator cuff.
