Denver Summit FC announced the signing of Colorado native Lindsey Heaps through 2029. She’s expected to arrive at the club after the completion of her season with OL Lyonnes, which will happen in June. The former Portland Thorns midfielder is a proven champion and she will bring that experience to this expansion side in its inaugural season.
Canadian defender Janine Sonis is set to join Denver Summit FC ahead of the club’s inaugural NWSL season. A proven winner at both the club and international levels, Sonis brings an Olympic gold medal and an NWSL championship to the team as it prepares for its first campaign.
Stanford striker Jasmine Aikey, whom the Summit signed on Thursday to a two-year deal with a mutual option for 2028, won the Hermann Trophy on Friday. The honor is the equivalent of college football’s Heisman Trophy and is presented annually by the Missouri Athletic Club.
