Florida's defense is returning a good amount of players this season, and several of last year's underclassmen are ready to step up. Executive head coach and co-defensive coordinator Ron Roberts is in charge of calling plays once again this year, and he's excited with the group he has, both coaches and players.

Florida football QB DJ Lagway is one of a handful of players who will be limited to start fall camp, which begins July 30.

Lagway suffered a calf injury during a run with his teammates last week, but thankfully, Gators head coach Billy Napier said that Lagway is only day-to-day. The 2025 college football season is still a month away from starting, so if everything goes according to plan, Lagway should be healthy for Florida's season-opener against Long Island.
