Days after Helene made landfall in Florida’s Big Bend region as a Category 4 hurricane, more than 3 million customers remain without power. At least 65 deaths have been confirmed as a result of the storm, at least a third of whom were killed by falling trees.

Helene has torn through the Southeast, killing more than four dozen people, in what a North Carolina county official called the "most significant natural disaster" the region has experienced in recent years.
