PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers announced Monday they were releasing safety Ryan Watts, whose football career is feared to be over because of a severe neck injury sustained last preseason.

The Pittsburgh Steelers will release 2024 sixth-round pick Ryan Watts due to a neck injury he suffered in a preseason game against the Detroit Lions last year.

On Monday, the Pittsburgh Steelers announced they were releasing second-year defensive back Ryan Watt. The team released a statement on the release. Watts was a rookie last season but missed the entire year after suffering a neck injury. A neck injury that could now cost him his career.
