Katie Hobbs (D-AZ) will travel to Washington, D.C., next week following devastating fires in the Grand Canyon. She is expected to meet with U.S. Forest Service leaders and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum.

Gov. Katie Hobbs questioned why the U.S. government decided to manage the Dragon Bravo fire, which started with a lightning strike, as a “controlled burn” during the height of the summer.

Gov. Katie Hobbs landed about 25 miles north of the rim near De Motte Campground and first toured the fire camp, where fire personnel were staged.
