As a late second-round pick, James was not expected to play a major role on the Lakers' roster, which is essentially how his season played out. James spent a good amount of his season playing in the G League, totaling 11 games for the Santa Barbara Lakers, but he spent more time with Los Angeles in the second half.

Lakers guard Bronny James failed to qualify for any of the three All-NBA G League Teams announced by the NBA on April 17.

Fans at Lakers games, both at home and on the road, have often chanted "We want Bronny" during garbage time, hoping the 20-year-old would be inserted into the game by head coach JJ Redick. He will be on the team's 15-man playoff roster, so perhaps fans will get to see a tiny bit of him during the postseason.
