A Republican-led committee is probing cities that have limited their cooperation with federal immigration enforcement, often known as sanctuary cities. Boston is among them.

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu said Tuesday that she will go to the nation’s capital to testify about Boston’s designation as a sanctuary city.

Mayor Michelle Wu has agreed to testify before Congress on Boston’s status as a sanctuary city as President Donald Trump’s administration takes aim at places that have declined to cooperate with federal immigration authorities.

Wu agreed to testify in person to the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, but said the hearing date is not final.
