American tennis sensation Coco Gauff ended her season in style Saturday, rallying to defeat China’s Zheng Qinwen to win the WTA Finals in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Tennis superstar Coco Gauff capped off the 2024 season by defeating China’s Zheng Qinwen 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (2) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday, becoming the youngest player to win the WTA Finals in 20 years.

Gauff improved to 5-4 against Sabalenka and ended a two-match losing streak including the Wuhan semifinals and the Australian Open semifinals. Sabalenka, who won the Australian Open and U.S. Open titles, ends the year at No. 1.

On Saturday, the 20-year-old survived a three-hour thriller in the Riyadh final and edged out Zheng Qinwen 3-6 6-4 7-6 (2). A couple of times during the match, the American had her back turned against the wall but managed to come back and ultimately win.

Coco Gauff will face world No. 2 Iga Swiatek in an exciting clash at the year-end WTA Finals in Riyadh on Tuesday, as the American star looks to build on her solid form.

Coco Gauff has wrapped up her season as well as possible. She won the WTA Finals and the $4.8 million check that came with the trophy and defeated the women ranked Nos. 1 and 2 along the way.
