Jalen Brunson and the New York Knicks had a chance to close out their series against the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night and advance to take on the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals. With Jayson Tatum out due to a torn Achilles, many expected the Knicks to walk into Boston and get the job done.

It happened late in the first quarter: Jalen Brunson attacked in transition, Hart cut baseline, and as Brunson delivered the pass, Hart elevated for a layup — only to take Luke Kornet’s elbow square to the face. He collapsed instantly, and Kornet immediately signaled to the Knicks bench.

Them being off the floor allowed Boston to go on a run and pull away with an inspiring win with Jayson Tatum done for the series after suffering a torn achilles tendon in Game 4. Josh Hart, who finished with a team-high 24 points,

Gilbert Arenas gave Knicks star Jalen Brunson, the NBA's Clutch Player of the Year, some massive praise by comparing him to a Lakers legend.

The Knicks went all-in this past offseason by adding Karl-Anthony Towns and Mikal Bridges. Brunson, Towns, Bridges, OG Anunoby and Josh Hart are all under contract for at least next season, so the team should look very similar moving forward.

The Knicks were outscored 32-17 in that third quarter when Brunson picked up the five fouls. Brunson had just two points in the quarter. With the Knicks trailing 91-76, coach Tom Thibodeau put Brunson back in the game to start the fourth quarter. He only made it to the 7:19 mark before committing his sixth foul and fouling out.
