A s Storm Floris continues to hit, the Met Office has warned it is likely to bring a spell of unseasonably strong and potentially disruptive winds across Northern Ireland. The yellow warning hit the north from 6am on Monday, bringing gale force winds, while there are weather alerts throughout much of the UK.

Northern Ireland has been hit by strong winds as Storm Floris landed on Monday morning. Several flights have been cancelled to and from Belfast City and Dublin Airports, and hundreds of properties lost power. A weather warning for strong winds took effect from 06:00 BST and is in place until midnight.

A number of closures have been announced across Northern Ireland for Monday. A yellow weather warning for wind due to Storm Floris will come into place at 6am on Monday, August 4, and will remain in place until 11.59pm on the same day. It covers the entire region.
