Bavuma also reflected on his reaction after wicketkeeper batter Kyle Verreynne smashed the winning runs to defeat Australia in the WTC Final by five wickets at Lord's on Saturday, according to a release from the ICC. "When he (Verreynne) scored the runs, I hid my head in my hands, just trying to embrace and acknowledge what we've just done."

In addition to elevating South African cricket to new heights, the World Test Championship (WTC) triumph etched Temba Bavuma’s name alongside legends like Ricky Ponting, Percy Chapman, and Warwick Armstrong.
