Today I introduced my Private Member’s Bill: the Ending Sentence Reductions for Sexual Predators Act. This bill will ensure sexual predators face consecutive sentences for each crime—no more “stacking” offences to walk away with lighter punishments. Every crime deserves its own penalty. Every victim deserves recognition. After a decade of Liberal policies putting criminals first, it’s time to put victims ahead of predators. Sexual predators should never get reduced sentences. Never. I was honoured to introduce my Private Member’s Bill today in the House. The Respecting Families of Murdered and Brutalized Persons Act will extend parole ineligibility for individuals convicted of abduction, sexual assault, and murder. This is meant to emphasize compassion for the families and stop the recurrent re-victimization that takes place at parole hearings year after year.
