Most Australian flying-fox species have specific and predictable birthing seasons but we are starting to see more and more infants born out of season. Grey-headed, Black and Spectacled flying-foxes generally give birth between October and December but we have had many March born Greys coming into care this year. It's flying-fox birthing season and our workload is increasing daily mostly due to the rescue of flying-foxes out of large aperture anti bird netting thrown over fruit trees. However, on this occasion, it was a child's backyard soccer net that trapped poor Susan and her baby. Now in care with us and with her injuries cleaned and dressed, Susan will hopefully be able to still care for her baby whilst in rehab. Susan's baby has received sub cut fluids and I'll be checking on his condition daily un
