Exception ⬇️⬇️⬇️ I have always pruned my smooth and panicle hydrangeas in late winter/early spring. However, if you have hard, snowy winters with lots of heavy snows, it may be to your advantage to prune them back before the snow starts falling. Sometimes the weight of the snow can break the branches of your hydrangea. I have zero experience with hard winters so be sure to follow @illustratorsgarden for more info on this!
