We are delighted to announce Mamawi Atosketan Native School as the winners of the Zayed Sustainability Prize Global High Schools – The Americas. In Northern Alberta's harsh winters, where year-round food growth is impossible, their modular, climate-controlled hydroponic farm, which fuses Indigenous knowledge with sustainability science, will combat food insecurity. The project will produce over 2,600 lbs of vegetables annually, save 70,000 litres of water, and support 250 students and families.
