The FDNY held a plaque dedication ceremony to honor Firefighter William “Billy” Moon, a 21-year veteran of the Department. Firefighter Moon was working on Monday, December 12, 2022 when he suffered a serious head injury during a training accident at Rescue 2, where he was assigned. When it became clear he would not survive his critical injuries, his family made the decision to donate his organs to save the lives of others.
